In short
- A service link like
incy://add/…orincy://crypt1/…opens an import confirmation window. - From the clipboard, INCY accepts subscription links, keys and
.confconfiguration text. - INCY recognises the
ssr://,tuic://andhysteria://(Hysteria version one) schemes but skips such servers. - On Apple TV and Android TV the subscription is sent from a phone: directly over a shared Wi-Fi network, or without one through the developer's encrypted relay.
- The developer calls the Windows, macOS and Linux versions of INCY pre-alpha.
Ways to add a subscription
The service's button
The service places a link in its account, on the subscription page or in its bot that opens INCY. The app shows an import confirmation window. If the link is encrypted (incy://crypt1/…), the subscription address in that window is hidden behind dots, and the “Name” field is already filled with the service's name. Confirm the import — the subscription is added.
A browser opened instead of INCY — the app is not installed on this device. Install INCY and tap the link again.
From the clipboard
- Copy the subscription link, the key or the text of the configuration file.
- Open INCY and choose “Paste”.
- Confirm the import.
INCY works out on its own what is in the clipboard: a subscription address, a server link, several links in a row, or a WireGuard configuration with [Interface] and [Peer] sections.
QR code
- Open the service's subscription QR code on another screen.
- In INCY, choose to scan a QR code and point the camera.
- Confirm the import.
Configuration file
WireGuard and AmneziaWG .conf files are added through file import. INCY tells AmneziaWG from plain WireGuard by the obfuscation parameters in the file. A file with several servers is added in full.
How to refresh a subscription
INCY refreshes the subscription automatically — at an interval the service sets. You can also refresh it manually without waiting for the interval.
When it refreshes:
- new and replaced servers from the service appear in the list;
- servers the service removed disappear;
- the term and traffic on the main screen update;
- the service's announcement appears or changes — a banner of up to 5 lines on the main screen.
If the service has set up backup subscription addresses and the main one does not respond, INCY tries them in turn. Refreshing does not extend your access.
How to tell the subscription was added
- A subscription card with the service's name appears on the main screen.
- The card shows the term and remaining traffic if the service sends them.
- The list shows the subscription's servers. Pick a server and connect.
- On iPhone and iPad, on the first connection the system asks you to allow a VPN configuration. Allow it — without it INCY will not connect.
If it didn't work
INCY found nothing in the clipboard
- Copy the link again on the same device.
- Copy it in full, through the message menu in a messenger, not by selecting part of the text.
- On iPhone, allow pasting when the system asks.
INCY didn't recognise the link
- The link is cut off or contains extra characters — a space, a quotation mark, surrounding text.
- You copied the address of a page with instructions, not of the subscription.
- INCY treats an HTTP proxy without a login and password (
http://address:port) as a subscription link. A proxy is added in the formathttp://login:password@address:port.
The subscription was added, but there are fewer servers than the service has
INCY skips servers on the ssr://, tuic:// and hysteria:// (Hysteria version one) schemes: the app recognises them but does not connect to them. The subscription's other servers work. If some of the servers you need are missing, ask the service whether there is a link in another format.
The subscription is there, but there are no servers
- Refresh the subscription.
- Read the banner and the lines in the list: when the term has ended or the device limit is exceeded, the service writes the reason there.
- If the list differs between Wi-Fi and mobile data, the service has set up different servers for different networks. This is a display filter, not an error.
- The list is empty after refreshing and no reason is shown — write to the service's support.
Other reasons INCY won't connect — in INCY is not connecting.
How to send a subscription to a TV
On Apple TV and Android TV there is no need to type a link with the remote: the subscription is sent from the phone.
- Open INCY on the TV. A QR code and an 8-character code appear on screen.
- On the phone, in INCY, choose to send to TV, scan the QR code or enter the code by hand.
- Choose what to send: the whole subscription or one server.
If the phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, the data goes directly and never leaves the home network. If not, it goes through the developer's relay: the link is encrypted on the phone and decrypted only on the TV, the relay cannot see it, and the data is deleted after 5 minutes. You get 5 attempts to enter the code, after which it stops working — get a new one on the TV.
Does a subscription for Happ work in INCY
Yes, if it is a subscription on VLESS or another Xray protocol: INCY and Happ read the same subscription link. It is added to INCY in any of the ways above — with the service's button, from the clipboard or by QR code. The reverse is not always true: WireGuard and AmneziaWG servers from INCY will not add to Happ. How to add a subscription to Happ — in How to add a subscription to Happ.
Differences by platform
| Platform | Specifics |
|---|---|
| iPhone, iPad | One INCY app on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. The system asks for permission to paste and to add a VPN configuration |
| Android | Google Play or an APK from the INCY-DEV releases on GitHub. You can choose which apps go through the tunnel or around it |
| Windows, macOS, Linux | Separate builds for Windows x64 and ARM64, Macs on Apple Silicon and Intel, Linux x64 and ARM64. The developer calls them pre-alpha: they work, but change between versions |
| Apple TV, Android TV | The subscription is sent from the phone by QR code or an 8-character code |
How it works in MaskNet
The MaskNet key is built into the subscription — there is no need to copy or paste it.
- Open your MaskNet account on the device with INCY.
- Press “Add subscription”. INCY opens with the subscription already added.
- Pick a country and connect.
The button works the same on a computer and on a phone. The QR code next to it is for another device: a second phone, a tablet or a laptop. To a TV, the subscription is sent from a phone: open INCY on the TV — it shows a QR code. Scan it in INCY on the phone where the MaskNet subscription is already added. The MaskNet configuration is encrypted: it cannot be opened, copied or forwarded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a key to INCY?
Copy the key, open INCY, choose “Paste” and confirm the import. If the service gave you a button or QR code, tap the button or scan the code.
How do I add a subscription to INCY with a QR code?
Choose QR code scanning in INCY, point the camera at the subscription code and confirm the import.
Why are some servers missing after importing into INCY?
INCY skips servers on ssr://, tuic:// and hysteria:// version one. The subscription's other servers work.
How do I add a WireGuard file to INCY?
Import the .conf file, or copy its text and paste it into INCY. The app recognises both WireGuard and AmneziaWG.
How do I move an INCY subscription to a TV?
Open INCY on the TV; on the phone, choose to send to TV and scan the QR code on screen or enter the 8-character code.
Why is the subscription address in INCY hidden behind dots?
The service issued an encrypted incy://crypt1/… link. INCY does not show its address either on import or when you share it again — so the link does not end up in a screenshot.
