The calculator uses ballpark data rates: an hour of HD video is roughly 3 GB, an hour of 4K around 7 GB, an hour of a video call around 1.2 GB, and an hour of general browsing around 0.2 GB. These are averages drawn from open sources on streaming bitrates; a given app can use noticeably more or less depending on quality and settings.
Your hours are multiplied by these rates and scaled to a month: weekly figures by 4.3, daily browsing by 30. The total is an approximate estimate of monthly use. Only the counter in your account, after a few days of use, gives an exact figure.
The Light plan includes 250 GB of traffic per month. If the estimate fits that, Light is enough. If it's higher, the Standard and Family plans have unlimited traffic and no counter to watch. Russian services stay direct, past MaskNet, and don't count against the limit.

How accurate is this?+
It's an estimate from average values, not a measurement. Real use depends on video quality, the specific apps, and background traffic. The counter in your account gives the exact figure.
What counts as general browsing?+
Reading pages, social feeds, messengers, and music — everything except watching video and video calls. We count that at about 0.2 GB per hour.
Do Russian sites use up traffic?+
No. Traffic to Russian services goes direct, past MaskNet, and doesn't count against the plan limit. You don't need to include it here.
What if the Light plan isn't enough?+
Move to a plan with unlimited traffic. Standard and Family are unmetered, and you can upgrade at any time by paying the difference for the remaining days.
