Where to get a key or subscription for Happ

Current as of October 6, 2026

A key or subscription for Happ is issued by the VPN service you pay for access: Happ has no servers of its own, and its developer does not sell access to any. Happ is a free client. It connects to the servers of whoever gave you the key or subscription.

In short

  • Happ is free. You pay not for the app, but for access to a service's servers.
  • A key points to one server. A subscription is a link to a list of servers that Happ updates on its own.
  • Keys and subscriptions are issued by VPN services, by administrators of work networks, and by people who run their own servers.
  • Happ reads VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks, Socks and Hysteria2. Happ will not add a WireGuard configuration.
  • “Official Happ keys” do not exist: the Happ developer does not sell keys.

What Happ needs to connect

Happ is a client: it sets up a protected connection to a server, but it has no servers. On the “How to buy or get a server” page of the happ.su documentation, the developer says it plainly: Happ does not provide or sell access to servers.

After installation, the server list in Happ is empty. To connect, you add one of two things to the app:

  • a key — a string with the parameters of one server, for example vless://…;
  • a subscription — a link Happ uses to download the service's server list.

Both are issued by whoever runs the servers.

Key or subscription: the difference for Happ

KeySubscription
What it isA string with the parameters of one server: vless://, vmess://, trojan://, ss://, hysteria2://A link to the service's server list
Servers in HappOneAll that the service includes in the subscription
How it updatesIt doesn't. The server changes address — the key stops workingHapp downloads the list again: with the refresh button or automatically
Term and trafficNot shownShown in the app if the service sends them
How to addClipboard, QR code, manual entryClipboard, QR code, the service's button

A subscription comes in two kinds. A regular one is a web address where the servers are listed in the open. An encrypted one starts with happ://crypto: the subscription address and server parameters are hidden, and they cannot be viewed or forwarded. How to add both is covered in How to add a subscription to Happ.

Where to get a key for Happ

  • From a VPN service. You pay for access, and the service issues a subscription or a key. This is the main option for a private user: the service runs the servers, replaces blocked ones and is responsible for them working.
  • From an administrator at work. Companies that give employees access to internal resources through Xray servers issue the subscription themselves. The employer sets the terms of use.
  • In the panel of your own server. If you rent a server and install a management panel on it, such as 3X-UI or Remnawave, keys and subscription links are created in that panel.

Channels and chats with free keys are not a source: such keys live for a few days, and the server owner sees your traffic. Why — in VPN keys.

Does a Happ subscription cost money?

Happ is free on every platform. Paid, trial or corporate access is decided by whoever runs the servers: the service sets the price, term and limits, and Happ only displays them.

The subscription refresh button in Happ does not pay for or extend anything. It downloads a fresh server list. If your access has expired, renew it with the service: on its website, in your account or in its bot.

Does Happ have a trial period

The app has no trial — it is entirely free. Trial access to servers is offered by services, and each sets its own terms: duration, traffic limit, paid or free. Check them on the service's website.

What to check with a service before paying

  • Protocol. A subscription on VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks or Hysteria2 works in Happ. Happ does not read WireGuard configurations: such a service will not work with Happ.
  • Number of devices. How many phones, computers and TVs work on one subscription at the same time.
  • Traffic. Unlimited or a monthly limit in gigabytes.
  • Term. How many days access lasts and what happens when it ends.
  • Refund. Whether there is one and within what period.
  • Public offer. The terms are written in a public document on the website, not in a seller's message.
  • Automatic card charges. Whether the service charges you automatically or you renew yourself.
  • Support. Where to write if the subscription stops working.

“Official Happ keys” are a scam

The Happ developer does not sell keys or subscriptions: not on its website and not through Telegram bots. A bot or channel that calls itself an “official seller of Happ keys” is impersonating the developer. Such sellers take money for a key that does not work or is cut off after a few days. How to check a seller and avoid a fake Happ — in Happ disappeared from the App Store.

Can you share a key with others

Technically, a key is a pass: whoever adds it connects to the server in your name. The service counts all those connections as yours and limits them by the number of devices in your plan. Share a key and you give away part of your limit; if the key spreads further, the service will disable it.

An encrypted subscription cannot be shared: Happ does not show its address or server parameters, and the app does not let you share a server from a hidden subscription. To connect your second device, add the subscription on it the same way as on the first.

A MaskNet subscription for Happ

  • The key is built into the subscription. The subscription is added to Happ with the “Add subscription” button in your account, and to a second phone, tablet or laptop with the QR code from your account. The key is not issued as text. To a TV, the subscription is sent from a phone: open Happ on the TV — it shows a QR code. Scan it in Happ on the phone where the MaskNet subscription is already added.
  • The configuration is encrypted. It cannot be opened, copied or handed out.
  • Purchase without registration. Enter your email at checkout — your account is created on it.
  • No automatic card charges. Renewal happens only when you decide.
  • Refund within 30 days of payment.
  • Works under whitelists.
  • Cascade connection. Entry through a MaskNet server in Russia, exit in the chosen location. The operator sees only the connection to the Russian server.
  • 10 locations, 3, 5 or 10 devices on one subscription.

The subscription works in both Happ and INCY.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get a key for Happ for free?

Free keys are handed out in open channels and chats, but they are no good for everyday use: a key works for a few days — hundreds of people share one server, and the server's IP gets blocked. The server owner sees where you connect. More in VPN keys.

Is Happ paid?

No. Happ is free on iPhone, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and TVs. What is paid is access to servers, which a service sells.

Will a subscription for INCY work in Happ?

Yes, if its servers use VLESS, VMess, Trojan, Shadowsocks or Hysteria2. INCY also reads WireGuard and AmneziaWG — Happ will not add such servers. How it works in INCY — in Where to get a key or subscription for INCY.

Why did my Happ key stop working?

The server changed its address, the provider blocked its IP, or your access expired. A single key does not recover on its own. A subscription gets new servers when it updates. Step-by-step checks — in Happ is not connecting.

What is happ://crypto?

An encrypted subscription. The subscription address and server parameters are hidden: Happ connects but does not show them and does not let you share them.

Can I buy a key from the Happ developer?

No. The Happ developer does not sell access to servers. “Official Happ keys” on Telegram are a scam.
