VPN for Android

VPN for Android: MaskNet for Android

Install Happ or INCY on your phone or tablet and add your MaskNet subscription.

Apps

Choose an app

We recommend Happ to most users; INCY works with the same subscription too.

Happ for Android installs from Google Play or as an APK file from the developer's GitHub. In Google Play the developer of the real Happ is HappDev: an app with the same name from another developer is a fake. INCY is also in Google Play and available as an APK.

After installation

Connect your MaskNet subscription

  1. Install Happ from the link above.
  2. Open your account on your phone and press “Add subscription” — Happ opens on its own.
  3. Choose a country and press the connect button.

VPN for Android: a detailed guide

What you need

  • A phone or tablet with Android 5.0 or later.
  • An active MaskNet subscription. Don't have one yet — choose a plan.

Installing Happ on Android

  1. Install Happ from Google Play using the link above. The real Happ is published by HappDev; an app with the same name from another developer is a fake. If Google Play isn't available, install the APK from the developer's GitHub.
  2. Open your MaskNet account in the phone's browser and tap "Add subscription" — Happ opens with the subscription already added.
  3. Pick a country and tap the connect button. On the first connection Android asks for permission to set up a VPN connection — allow it.

INCY is also in Google Play and available as an APK, and works with the same subscription.

How to check that it works

A key icon appears in the notification shade — the tunnel is up. Open Check my IP: it says "Your connection is protected by MaskNet". The leak test shows where DNS lookups go: a resolver in Russia is a leak — check "Private DNS" in Android settings and "Use secure DNS" in the browser.

Smart routing sends the traffic of Russian services — Gosuslugi, banks, marketplaces — outside the VPN tunnel: they see your Russian IP, and you don't need to turn MaskNet off.

If something went wrong

There are no servers in Happ+

Press ↻ next to the subscription name: right after adding, the list does not always load on the first try.

Lines of text instead of servers+

That is a message that the term has ended, traffic has run out or the device limit is exceeded. Renew the subscription or remove an old device in your account.

There are servers, but it won't connect+

Press the speedometer icon in the subscription header: a green check — the server is available, a red exclamation mark — unavailable. All red — the network is down: check the internet without the VPN.

Your account is open on a computer, but you need to connect the phone+

Tap "+" in the top-right corner of Happ on the phone, choose QR code scanning and point the camera at the QR code next to the "Add subscription" button in your account.

In INCY it works the same way — the walkthrough is in INCY won't connect.
